Alpaca Basics
Alpacas are one of Mother Natures favorite farm animals.
They are sensitive to the environment in every respect. Alpacas are wonderful as pets, for
children and adults alike, but are generally selected and purchased as breeding stock for
a burgeoning fiber market.
Alpaca Fiber
We do have alpaca fiber for sale. Alpaca fiber is three times stronger than sheeps
wool, and garments made from it are seven times warmer. Our fiber is sold to the AOBA
Alpaca Fiber Co-op, hand-spinners, and weavers, as well as being used here at April's
Acres to make blankets in a variety of colors from our alpacas that are for sale. We also
sell direct in ounces and pounds; all natural colors to choose from. You can order raw,
cleaned, carded, rovings, batts, bumps, yarn mixed with silk, or just 100% alpaca fiber.
If you are interested or looking for a special color, please call or e-mail us and we can send samples on request. |
What We
Offer
We take pride in offering high quality Chilean, Peruvian, and
Bolivian Huacaya alpacas, including halter-trained weanlings, bred females, and proven
males -- for both sale and stud service.
We provide a free breeding to you for the females that are
not bred at the time of purchase from your choice of our selection of herd sires. Some
priced females include a choice of a male also to take home.
We offer agistment (boarding) for those customers not ready
to take their new animal home. We also have Sales Packages available, as well as a Time
Payment Program. Discounts on multiple purchases, and we will transport
FREE in 48 states when purchasing two or more females.
We can also meet your needs if you're interested in a 4-H
animal for your children, a wonderful fiber animal to have for those of you who love
to spin and weave, for plain enjoyment of light packing on day trips in the country,
or just having fun doing obstacles. |
